Leicester Green Party Candidates for Stoneygate, May 2007

Bob Ball Bob Ball, as the Green candidate for Castle Ward in 2003, tied with a Labour candidate. Lots were drawn and chance favoured Labour, but Bob had shown that Green votes count. He now aims to show that they count in Stoneygate. He is experienced in community work and engineering management. A graduate of Leicester University in politics and history, and an artist, he was a Green Party candidate for the East Midlands in the 2004 European election. He has campaigned to save local shops, post offices and against mobile phone masts, including one on Victoria Park. He is also an active anti-nuclear campaigner and has travelled with other Leicester people to take part in the ongoing Faslane 365 protest.
Christopher Davies Christopher Davies is the artistic director of Bamboozle Theatre Company, which specialises in working with students who have learning and behavioural difficulties. He has been a member of the Green Party since 1979 and has stood as a candidate in local, parliamentary and European elections. Christopher and his family have a cat and an English bull terrier called Chester.
Michael Sackin Michael Sackin works as a Computer Officer at the University of Leicester. He has been involved in a wide range of environmental and social campaigning for nearly 40 years. After years of often backing losers, e.g. the Newbury Bypass, he is painfully learning to try and back winners, and that more through empathising rather than confrontation. It is in this spirit that he also campaigns for a just peace in the Middle East. He conducts the University Sinfonia as well as playing violin and viola in many local orchestras and in chamber music. He is married with one daughter.
