Phil’s memorial tree
Mon, Oct 25, 2010
An oak tree was planted in honour of Green Councillor Phil Gordon on Victoria Park, near the pond on 25 Oct. Phil died suddenly in May 2010 whilst carrying out tree surgery work in Abbey Park.

Various tributes were read-out before planting the oak. The event was attended by friends and people who knew Phil, which was hosted by Leicester University and Phil’s family. This was part of the dedications for Phil in the University's Big Green Week.
